E-invoicing mandate

Your e‑invoicing deadlines: 2025, 2027, 2028

The mandate applies in stages to domestic B2B transactions. Here's what matters, in three steps.

  1. 01

    since 1 Jan 2025

    Receiving: mandatory for everyone

Every domestic business must be able to receive e-invoices — including small businesses under § 19 UStG.

With FaeBill: upload, read and view e-invoices as a PDF — instantly and for free.

Read the full details on the e-invoicing mandate in the FaeBill blog

  2. 02

    from 1 Jan 2027

    Issuing: larger businesses

Businesses with more than 800,000 € in prior-year revenue (2026) must issue e-invoices.

With FaeBill: create e-invoices in ZUGFeRD 2.x and XRechnung — already today.

  3. 03

    from 1 Jan 2028

    Issuing: everyone else

All remaining businesses then issue e-invoices. Small businesses stay exempt from issuing (§ 34a UStDV), as do small-value invoices up to 250 €.

With FaeBill: issue unlimited e-invoices as soon as the mandate applies to you.
